Four out of every 10 unintended pregnancies end in abortion. For women choosing abortion 52% are under the age of 25. “Every year since 1977, 1.3 million abortions are performed in the United States alone; and about 21 % of all American women between the ages of 15-44 years old have had an abortion” (Arthur EBSCO). Abortion has become very common in the United States as a way out of an accidental pregnancy. Abortion stops the baby from being born, but also greatly affects the mother, and sometimes others involved in the life of the mother or child. Abortion can affect the mother mentally and physically, she can become deeply depressed or she could even have complications with trying to have a child again.
