The U.S President performs many roles and functions. Some of his duties are conferred upon him by the Constitution, and others are expected of him as the highest office in the land. Among his many roles, the most significant is that of commander-in-chief. Being the commander-in-chief means that all the senior officers of the armed forces in the United States takes orders and reports to the president (Bruff, 2014). These forces include; Army, the Air Force, Navy and Marines. He performs his role of commanding forces as a civilian and has advisors who help him in setting sound military policies.
