This is a story that goes in depth to make it a point that even though someone may have enough of something, their wants requiring the obsession can cause it to become an addiction. What grabbed me in about the writing of the piece was what Richmond used in order to have freedom and happiness. She used tattoos as a way “to overtly express [her] personal rebellion, thumb [her] nose at societal norms, and to declare [her] uniqueness to the rest of the world.” Tattoos are how she showed her individuality, but this form of individuality lead to an obsession.
