Leadership Styles within The Cheesecake Factory Leadership is the essence of how followers will act using the head and the heart as a compass. The Cheesecake Factory is a great example of how management acting as leaders can illustrate the four styles of leadership. Daft (2008) stated “Leadership is an influence relationship among leaders and followers who intend real changes and outcomes that reflect their shared purposes” (p. 5). With the instilment of leadership at the core of all of The Cheesecake Factory managers, they all should have the vision to create change to support the company’s vision. Great leadership starts from the top and it governs how the follower in the instance may be the leader to the next set of people. The Cheesecake Factory is a great example of how the leadership styles of the upper management is imposed on the day to day floor managers that have to portray it to staff and customers. The vision from the leadership up top is essentially responsible for guiding the middle and lower level management in the direction of that goal.
