Cats are very often pets in our culture, yet some people don’t have any because of stereotypes. Cats are great animals. People who don’t have any cats are either missing out…or allergic. Some people say that cats are bad animals that all they do is claw you and scream, but this is wrong. I have fourteen cats, and they all are very different. Cats all have different appearances and personalities, Stephan is one of my cats. Stephan has orange and white fur, his head has orange on the very top so you can still see the M that tabby cats have, but white at the bottom of his head. Stephan’s meow is very distinct to the rest, it’s louder than most of the cats and actually sounds like a meow. His personality is great, he’s considered one of our friendliest cats, and this is because he looks for people to pet him while never rejecting humans. When Stephan is outside, he’s one of the few cats that will run to meet you if you call for him. Tooncis is another of my cats, he looks like a stereotypical gray tabby cat. People that say that cats are lazy, are just around cats like Tooncis or Coopy, and never around cats like Stephan or Ella. All of these ideas of cats comes from just one experience in the person’s life, otherwise they would realize how diverse cats are in how they act. When people just the entire species around just one of the animals, is where everything goes wrong. Some people will say “I hate cats” because they used to have a cat that was scared when they first moved into its house, thus being afraid and hissing and hiding in a corner for what could be a couple months, especially how the humans act around it.
