There are many categories in which speech might be unprotected as granted by our firsts amendment. Some of those categories sit in areas that might be considered “blurry”, example, speech that violates the clear and present danger test. The clear and present danger test is used when dealing with freedom of speech, protected in the first amendment. This test is used to determine whether or not a person’s statement is protected under that amendment. If the person says a statement that can cause danger to the people around them, their speech is not protected by the first amendment.
