High School “Why do we fall? So we can learn how to pick ourselves up.”- Thomas Wayne. High school will seem so chaotic that you’ll want stay put once you’ve been knocked down but that doesn’t mean you can’t seize control of at least something. In my own experiences and regrets, I ruined my grades the first month of high school. My idiotic assumption towards my failing grades was that it was all bad luck and would blow over at one point, it didn’t of course. Not once did I go to my teachers to make up any missing work, get extra credit, or even to check in on my grade. I was about ready to accept failure until I realized how absolutely stupid it would be to just give up. I had learned that there many chances to help yourself when you’re down, all you had to do was put in some work.…show more content…
These classes were electives and I had always thought they were unimportant but it turns out I really needed them. I never really liked my electives, so instead of doing their class work I would instead work on an others or do no work at all. I knows it’s stupid to fail a class because I simply didn’t like it but I now know not to do so. Other ones such as English and History were always easy for me but Math has been the bane of my existence. To my surprise, I also grew fond of my science classes and started to gain good grades in them as well. English had become both interesting and easy ever since the 5th grade, I had become a bit of a “bookworm” during this time too. This is all thanks to a very wise teacher who not only taught me, he also helped me deal with the troubles and hardships I had faced at home. The one class I still dredd, struggle with, and need to improve in is Math. I don’t know why but I have and always will loathe math, my hatred for it only festered when I entered high
