1. I do agree that American parents aren’t disciplining their children harshly enough. There is a difference between discipline and abuse. Discipline is defined as teaching a person to obey rules while using punishment to rectify disobedience. Abuse is cruel treatment involving misuse that may or may not include violence. There are many forms of disciplining a child but it is an act of love commonly misinterpreted as abuse. Raising a child without discipline provides a disadvantage for the child and the parents. Discipline prepares our children for the real world in which one cannot act with no regard for the law without being punished. Parents who discipline out of love would rather teach their children that incorrect actions have consequences
