Imagine you and your friends make plans on the weekend to watch a movie together. Everyone comes except one person. You try to get a hold of him to see where he is at but he does not respond to his cell phone. So you accept the fact he is not coming. The next day you ask him “Why did you not come” and he says “I was busy doing other stuff”. Turns out your friend was playing Fortnite all day and all night sitting at his computer. Back to Ryan Van Cleave, he was able to end his addiction to video games just by uninstalling World of Warcraft. At first, this was hard for him as he began to suffer from withdrawal effects. For the next week, his stomach and head hurt and he was drenched in sweat. Before he was able to help himself he first needed to realize he had a problem in the first place. Ways you can stop yourself from becoming video game addicted is to start limiting the number of hours you spend playing games from 8 hours to 4 hours to 2 hours.The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends limiting a child’s viewing of movies, watching TV, and playing video games to one or two hours per day. Developers can begin to make the games less addictive to help lower the widespread of the disorder. They can also add a warning after every 2 hours to remind the player they have been playing for way too long. Playing Video Games can be a lot of fun. It can be a great stress reliever for some people. Video Games are also not as bad, they can be used in education and has been proven to increase hand-eye coordination. But as with many things too much of a good thing can be a bad thing. So to my fellow gamers go out and live in real life, not in some fantasy
