Imagine being stuffed into a small, cramped cage. Your legs sting from the cold metal grinding into your paws, and your mouth is parched and dry. You hear your stomach grumble, a pain growing in your stomach. You let out a small whine, but know in the back of your mind, it won’t be heard. And won’t change. You’re being abused, and no one will stand up for you. Humans will watch it happen, and think once they see it, they can talk it into the back of their mind, and never think about it again. But it won’t change. Not unless one person decides to stand up to it. But who will that be? Will you take a stand?
The injustice I am discussing is animal abuse. This term refers to the mistreatment or cruelty of any animal. All animals deserve respect and the right treatment, no matter their species. Just because they cannot speak for themselves, it doesn’t give humans the right to take advantage of an animal. This injustice is not just bad, it’s horrific. Sickening. Appalling. Animals are being abused, and killed just for the sake of entertainment.
