The demographic information on the nursing home on a macro level The quality of life of older adults in a nursing home is challenging. It has many different aspects and it also depends on the need of the person. Some of those characteristics are control by elderly people who are being placed in the nursing home, if they are well enough to comprehend what is going on. Older people are placed in nursing homes for different reasons, for example, it could be simply because people are too old to take care of themselves and there are no family members available to care for them around the clock. It serves a diverse population, it has resident from many different culture and ethnicity. It provides senior living in a well-managed and satisfying environment. The area this community is in a generally middle-class area, Miami Shores. It is centrally located it is surrounded by hospitals, retail stores, and churches of several different faiths. It is a wonderful place for older people with medical needs and daily activities. As of 2010, there were 3,935 households out of which 7.8% were vacant. In 2000, 32.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.0% were couples living together, 12.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.0% were non-families. 23.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.67 and the average family size was 3.24. The village also has one of the highest percentages of homosexual couples in the United States.
