Narrow Gate: Is the Way to Heaven a Rough One? The narrow gate is a symbolic description of the way to heaven. Jesus Christ was not diplomatic in His preaching on how people could enter heaven. One of the faithful followers of Jesus who had listened to the various teachings of Jesus Christ had a prediction in his mind when he compared the popular lifestyles of people to the teachings of Jesus Christ. His prediction came in form of a question: “Lord, are there few who are saved?” Jesus was not surprised about the question and He replied: “Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you will seek to enter and will not be able”. (Luke 13:23-24) Narrow Gate on the pulpits? Jesus’ response in Luke chapter 13 verses 24 contradicts what I hear on some pulpits. Some preachers made statements such as: “you have no work to do once you give your life to Jesus”; “your heaven is secured if you become a church member”; “you are under the dispensation of grace, so you have liberty to do anything you like”... All these and other similar quotes are ‘sweet messages’ from the false preachers. And the misconception of Paul’s statements is there instrument of deceits.
