Occasionally everyone feels down and out and experience sadness. These types of feelings usually pass within a couple of days. When you show a sign of depression, it interferes with your daily routine and causes pain for you and for the ones that care about you. Depression is a common but serious illness. During the time that we are here on earth, some of us may experience changes in their mood and have sadness in our lives, some may experience grief by losing a member of their family, a friend, their home, or we may lose our job. Depression is defined as a long-term illness or condition that involves many different kinds of symptoms that can affect you in a negative way. It is known that babies that are born to mothers that is depressed shows signs of: irritability, less activity, less attentiveness and fewer facial expressions. The effect of depression that impacts the brain, heart and other parts of the body is considered a physical effect. It is known that depression affects the brain in a negative way. One of the most disturbing effects of depression is a decrease in the brain volume. Other physical effects that depression has is: decreased interest in sex, decreased appetite, fatigue, insomnia or oversleeping. There are many people that is suffering from depression and there are several ways to overcome it.
