Is the father of your life, treating you with the best respect he can possibly give you? In the book To Kill A Mockingbird By Harper Lee there is a family known to be as the Finchs. The Finches are a family with a boy named Jem, a girl named Scout and a father named Atticus. Atticus has no wife to help take care of his children. Atticus Finch is trying to support his family with all he can do . Atticus is a good father to his children because he cares for them and tries to brighten up their future. Atticus is a good father because he cares for his children and tries to be the best at being a father. In the novel Atticus is a good father because he is there for his children. Atticus does not have much supervision for his children. His children are sometimes in situations because Atticus isn’t watching out for them. Once in the book it stated,” Jem decided to peep in the window with loose shutters to see if they can get a look at Boo Radley”.” Someone inside the Radley house comes out and fires a shotgun”.” Jem gets caught on the fence and is forced to remove his pants”. This shows that the kids were in serious trouble going to the Radleys without Atticus knowing where they were.Scout once had a play at her school and went with Jem. As returning back home through the woods Scout says,” we were nearly to the road when I felt Jems hand leave me. I felt him jerk backwards to the ground. More scuffling, and there came a dull crunching sound and Jem Screamed. This shows that Atticus had no clue of what was happening. Now because of Atticus not being there with his children when walking back home, they got injured such as Jem getting a broken arm. When Jem and Scout were coming home from town, Jem was mad because of Mrs.Dubose. Scout began to say, “ he did not begin to calm down until he had cut off the tops off every camellia bush Mrs.Dubose owned, until the ground was littered with green buds and leaves”. If Atticus were there Jem would have never cut the tops of the bushes because Atticus would have stopped him. But Atticus was not there and the reason of this happening Jem
