I support the notion that there are health determinants that do affect the health of an individual and eventually the health of a population. Such factors as income, education, environmental and lifestyle factors, and genetic factors can affect a person’s health outcome. According to the World Health Organization, WHO, “Income and social status-higher income and social status are linked to better health” (WHO, 2015). When a person has a greater income they will be more financially capable of affording health care coverage. Additionally, as a person advances their education, they are more informed of the importance of their health and possibly taking more preventative measures to insure their health.
