Xincheng Shi, Esther Liu ELA 10 The story of Goldenella Once upon a time, there was a wealthy widower who married another woman. The husband had only one daughter named Goldenella, who was treated indulgent by her father. In contrary, his second wife was in a poor living condition. His wife had two children, and they were later treated as servants to Goldenella. Golenella was a beautiful 20 years old girl who had bright, shining and expensive clothes to wear everyday. However, her two servant sisters never change their clothes. Their daily work was to knee on the ground and clean the floor, or to wash the heaps of clothes that Goldenella wore. They danced, they drank and they talked about their crazy dreams, prince knew that Goldenella was the right girl for him. “Clang, Clang, Clang” the bell rang, it remined Goldenella of the fairy’s words. Finally he found Goldenella and promised he would be a good husband as they got married; their wedding ceremony was gorgeous, almost every citizens in the town showed up. And they live happily ever after? No, the story did not end here. Actually the prince did not keep his promise, after they got married the prince treated Golenella just like how she had treated her sisters. He forced her to do all the housework at home and if she complained, well, he would kick her out of the house. He spent all his money gamboling, drinking, in the end the couple lost everything that they could only beg on street. One day Goldnella saw her sisters. They both found their true loves, they worked hard and had made quite a few money. The two girls were happily talking about their families as they walked alone the street, suddenly they noticed Goldnella and gave her some money and said “ Do not lose your hope girl, life will get better” without recognizing
