French engineers Edmound Fouche and Charles Picard first developed oxygen-acetylene welding in 1903. It is still widely used for welding tubes and pipes, as well as other repair works. Oxy-acetylene welding has an advantage over electric welding and other cutting processes that it isn't electricity dependent and hence is "more portable". Introduction Welding is a fabrication or sculptural process that joins materials, usually metals or thermoplastics, by causing coalescence. Welding is a process which is done when it heated or melts the work pieces and added some filler materials to form a pool of molten material. And after the cooling of the pool of molten material it becomes a strong joint. Welding is similar to soldering and brazing, in which we are melting and flowing a filler metal or heat the metal in melting point and distributed between two or more close-fitting parts. In welding many types of energy sources are used like electric, gas flames, laser, electron beam and friction etc. Welding is a process which is largely or hugely used in the industries. It is also used in many types of environments for example in open air, underwater and in outer space. The major types of welding used in industries are arc welding, gas welding etc. There are many types of welding such as: gas welding, arc welding, resistance welding, solid state welding, thermo chemical welding and radiant energy
