INTRODUCTION. This is to show how communication is very important in all health care setting and the effective way for services delivery in L01 and L02. “Information is power. LO.1.1 Various factors that make communication skills within health and social care settings. There are different types of relevant theories are Humanist, Behaviorist, Cognitive and Psychoanalytical. All these are used in communication skills. Humanistic theory is based on human needs and the belief that we as people, seek to become the very best we can be. This communication falls into the categories of safety and security; love, emotional needs and self esteem. As humans, it is in nature to feel fear. Communication skills can support people on voicing those fears, finding solution to calming and showing them love and support that is needed. Research has that in the elderly, 20% who live in isolation are at risk of death. This shows the need for human contact, (age concern uk). Also with self esteem, health care professionals must be aware of the best way to communicate service users as everyone deserves the right to feel good and confident about themselves and what they believe in. Health care professionals must respect service users and treat them, refer to them the way they would be expected to be treated, when put in their positions.
