Throughout my life I have observed two distinct career paths, my father’s and my mother’s. My mother completed her dental hygienists education and secured a government job in Malaysia, which she continued to hold to this day. My father’s path began similarly; like my mother, he earned a dental hygienists education in the same college as my mother. My father continued education by completing dental technician education, then started his own dental lab and became a successful dental technician. Evaluating their experiences helped me understand what I wanted in my life and create a master plan for my career. With the objective of learning about investment, I completed my bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science from Drake University. In my first position out of school, I was hired by ExodusDirect, LLC as business analysts in Inventory Control/Pricing Department. Throughout the year, I have assisted in inventory forecasting, special purchase order analysis in terms of budget planning, return on investment, risk of money and etc. After a year, I was promoted to a position as eBay account manager in E-Commerce Department. While this was by no means my dream job, I learned a tremendous amount about business, sales and marketing, and finance. Taking into consideration my foundation and my interests, graduate business school is the next step in my life.
