Many empires have have been established throughout world history. One may ask, “What is the greatest empire?” Now that question can mean many things. It can be whether they were the greatest in benefitting their people, or who won the most wars. In this paper, the Ottoman, Safavid, and Mughal empires will be analyzed to see which one was the greatest empire in the aspect of how much progress they have made as an empire. I believe that the Ottoman empire made the greatest progress as an empire compared to the Safavid and the Mughal empires. In terms of reign, the Ottoman empire 1300 C.E until 1919 C.E making one of the “longest lasting and richest empire in world history.” In relation to the other three empires, the Safavid dynasty imploded
