A system is a group of related components that serve a common purpose (Kendall, 1996). System can consist of tools, supplies, machines, procedures, and people and it usually requires some type of orderly management. There are two types of systems which are business system and information system. Business system is concerned with accomplishing specific business goals (Kendall, 1996). Information system is managing the data needed by a business system and is therefore another example of a subsystem (Kendall, 1996). As elaborated by Russell Kay (2002), system analysis refers on how to refines project goals into defined functions and operation of the intended application. The major function for this phase is to determine the requirements for a proposed new system (Kendall, 1996). In this phase, the analysts figure out the problems that had been arising in company and purpose the best alternative solutions for the problems. The analyst need to studies and documents the current system in order for them to understand the problems better. Then, the analyst needs to prepare a list for all requirements that was needed for a new system. But during this phase, the analyst does not need to diagrams the functions of the new system briefly. According to Devdas (2011), maintenance includes implementation of changes that software might undergo over a period of time, or implementation of new requirements after the software is deployed at the customer location. Maintenance phase also includes managing the remaining error that still exists in the software even after the system is being tested. In order to keep pace with every alteration in business environment the system must continue to develop. For example, a business may introduce a new product or service that has a dissimilar line of information needs than the previous product or service. A system is being modified only after the system is functioning and this process is handled by the analyst. Maintenance is compulsory because of the changing complexion of business environment and the occurrence of deficiency in the system when it is being delivered.
