The book, 111 Days to Zion, is an account of the first group of Mormon pioneers to cross the plains. It is written in a sort of journal form with excerpts taken from the records that were kept by the pioneers led by President Brigham Young to the Salt Lake Valley in Utah. A Mormon myself I have always been fascinated with the early pioneers and have found this book to be informative and enjoyable. While reading though it was sometimes hard to follow as the organization is a little confusing when you first start reading. There are maps of the pioneer’s path and how they interact with the modern layout of the land. The format, or organization, is unique as it is sectioned off into groups of four to six days with the summary coming first and then
