The minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj confirmed that 14 Indians were among the 717 people who lost their lives in Haj stampede. The news was informed by counsel general Jedda.
The incident occurred as people struggled to perform the ceremony of stoning of the devil.
The stampede occurred at the intersection of two streets leading to Jamarat about five kilometers from Makkah.
She further added that thirteen Indians were among 800 people injured in the incident and said that exact number will be known after confirmation by Saudi authorities.

Eid celebrations in Kashmir disrupted as youth clash with security forces.
Youth and security forces clashed in several areas of Srinagar and Anantnag district after Eid prayers today. Police said that the youth in groups allegedly started pelting stones at police and paramilitary forces in return the security forces used tear smoke shells.
Two journalists were injured in these clashes at Eidgarh. The officer said that rest of the Kashmir valley witnessed peaceful Eid prayers.

The decision to put them under house arrest was taken considering the apprehension of law and order.
The authorities have also snapped Internet services across Kashmir Valley fearing misuse by anti-social elements.
