Witches: The Salem Witch Trial Of 1692

186 Words1 Page
Twenty people executed for being a witch! In 1692 people believed there were such things as witches. “Witches” were women accused of practicing witchcraft. Why would they believe in something so silly? People were jealous of wealthy people, so they would accuse them of being a witch and would be able to get all of their wealth and belongings. They say there are three reasons to why the “Salem Witch Trial of 1692” happened. Some people (as I recently stated) were jealous, others were frightened, and two spoiled little girls… Document “E” shows a map of the accusers and the accused. It shows that most of the “accusers” were poor and the “accused” were wealthier. This shows why I know they were jealous of other people's fortunes.
