In Salem, during the summer of 1692, fear began to rise as the topic of witches caught hold of the wind and spread across the small town. What caused the people of Salem to freak out about the rumor of witches in 1692? Well, two young girls wanted to be independent, they pretended to be possessed as they accused older women of being witches, and ultimately, the poor were jealous of the rich.
