Ambition exists in the human experience because it is natural human instinct to have high goals. In the story “Winter Dreams” by F. Scott Fitzgerald. In the story the main character, Dexter meets a young girl named Judy. Then when he is in his twenties Dexter find Judy again, and falls in love with her. In the end she breaks his heart, and Dexter lives the rest of his life in despair missing Judy. Fitzgerald incorporates vivid imagery, extreme hyperbole ,and repetition to portray the dangers of human ambition. Fitzgerald utilizes detailed imagery to depict dangers of human ambition.
