In the song “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen the emotion(s) conveyed are sadness and defeat. Those all seem so different but that is what was shown as the emotion of the song. Sadness because in the song a person could find that not all hallelujahs are praises to the lord and some are praises to the worldly things. One could also feel defeat in the song because of the way Cohen speaks about Bathsheba and Delilah, two women who took the praises that were for God and made them for themselves through sex and other worldly things. The artist Leonard Cohen did a good job writing this song. When one looks into the lyrics and read word for word exactly what the artist was trying to convey in the not so religious song but by using such a religious word
