This play was written by William Shakespeare, and was first published in the 1500s. The main theatrical set can best be seen in Shakespeare’s own theatre, The Globe. The Globe wasn’t constructed until 1599, but most theatres were similar to it, an extravagant amphitheatre. This play does much better when performed in an amphitheatre with a beautifully detailed set. A good bit of the play is during the daytime, which has to do with the fact that the theatres usually used natural lighting. The tiring-house featured in these kinds of theatres also helped to emphasize parts of this play.
