In the memoir The Diving Bell and the Butterfly by Jean-Dominique Bauby, the chapter The Sausage reminds himself of the several things he use to be able to take for granted before he required a feeding tube to meet the daily caloric needs; a main focus was on flavors of different types of foods he’d enjoy and the lack of independence.
