I believe that the Semester at Sea program will provide abundant opportunities that will challenge me to enhance the following skills: Social Skills: I often reflect on the components of Daniel Goleman's emotional intelligence model: self-awareness, self-regulation, self-motivation, empathy and social skills. Also, in his book "How to Win Friends and Influence People," Dale Carnegie writes that "85 percent of one's success is due to skill in human engineering."
