The Spanish and English wars of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries were primarily focused on differences of religion. As ruler of England, Queen Elizabeth I became the prime person on the outcome of the war. As Spain explores to the New World, Spain assembles money to build ships to overpower England. Queen Elizabeth I knows, that if she doesn’t win against the Spaniards then she will lose money and power. Queen Elizabeth I sends British explorers to the New World to assemble money for bigger ships. The main British explorers were Francis Drake and Walter Raleigh. Queen Elizabeth starts conflict with the Spaniards. “She (Queen Elizabeth) had covertly supported Sir Francis Drake's attacks on Spanish treasure galleons returning from the New World; in September 1580, Drake had returned from sailing around the world with a cargo of Spanish gold, worth 1.5 million ducats, raided from galleons in the New World.” (Spark Notes). Queen Elizabeth did not punish her people because their beliefs. Queen Elizabeth I stated, in the movie, “Fear creates fear, sir. I will not punish my people for their beliefs. Only for their deeds. am assured that the people of England love their Queen. My constant endeavor to earn that love. (IMSDb). On the other hand, the Queen would punish her people for not obeying the laws. Also the Queen did not have a limited to punish her people. Queen Elizabeth I states, in the movie, “If any of my people break the law, they will be punished. Until that day, I wish them to be let them alone.”
