Racial Profiling can be described as the unethical treatment from law enforcement that heavily rely on the ethnicity, race and origin of nationality instead of crimes that may have been committed by individuals. This practice was originally intended to catch drug dealers in U.S. Airports smuggling narcotics by Federal Government Agencies. Racial profiling was later banned in 2003 by The Department of Justice due to a considerable amount of negative feedback from the public (Schmalleger, p. 189, 2014). Racially biased policing are procedures implemented to target individuals based on race and ethnicity by police officials. Bias-based policing has great potential to damage relationships between communities and police departments.
