Introduction: In every scene of a country’s life, there has always been a leader at the forefront of it all. Many countries have flourished under the good leaders while they have been destroyed by the bad ones. However, the question that begs to be asked is what is a leader and where are they usually found? According to John C. Maxwell, a leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way. Leaders know the way and since they know the way, they would have to test it out and when that particular method has been proven and tested, they would show the way to their followers. Leadership is not only found in the governing bodies of a country; they are also found within the church. Each church must have a pastor who leads the church.…show more content…
This was because the Tartars, also known as the Mongolians, always devastated Russia especially in the northeast. Once he had achieved his heavyweight military, Ivan crushed the Tartars, and this began Russia’s expansion into Siberia. Ivan also founded the standing army which was called the streltsy. ii. Economy In the year 1553, the Moscow Print Yard was established by order of Ivan the Terrible and this introduced Russia to the printing press. iii. Politics To create what was known as the Sudebnik of 1550, Ivan the Terrible had to revise the law code of Russia. He also established the Zemsky Sobor which was the first Russian parliament in the Middle Ages. He also established the Chosen Council which is a council of nobles. 2. Peter the Great (1682-1725) In the 17th century a Russian czar named Peter the Great came to power and he is most known for his reforms in an attempt to make Russia a great nation. The countries were not perfect; neither are the men taken from their descriptions. The goal of this paper was to show which country was the closest to the qualifications of a pastor, but I believe none of them were close to being what God wants a good leader to be. They did not have the most important element: they did not know God and they did not have faith in God. How will a leader know the way when he himself does not know God? Saying these makes it seem like this paper has not proven anything. That is not true. Although, they did not have the most important element, they still had the minor elements needed to become a leader. Out of the three nation-states, it can be seen that Britain is the closest to the qualification of God. Out of three qualifications, he got two of them right. These descriptions show how the countries were ruled during the old times. It is very important for one to know what God wants in a leader because the way one acts will not only affect himself, but also the people around
