Professional Athletes Well Paid

Perhaps all of you know that professional athletes earn millions of euros by simply running, boxing, or shooting a ball into something, for example? There are many such examples of sport activities that by some means established a well-paid business empire. Despite the fact that, people around the globe are famishing to death as a result of an absence of food, health care and many other instances, there are people just watching those famous athletes running and scoring goals. When thinking about the global distress caused by the absence of funds, spending money on sporting events appears to be a rather foolish spending. The worst part is that it seems we care more about sports than helping those that really need the help, those that are suffering each day. Secondly, in regard to an online article by Katelyn Harrop on July 14, 2015 on thinkprogress.org; “between the years 2001 and 2012, about 12 billion dollars from public funds were spent on sport facilities around the United States. However, with that amount of money they would have been able to pay for school lunch every year around the country, food benefits for 8 million people, addiction treatment, 20% of college tuition nationwide, veteran healthcare, and much more.” Furthermore, in regards to the amount of money spent on sport goods we should be worried. In a survey conducted in the United States between the years 2002 and 2014, “the consumer spending on sport goods increase from 45 billion dollars annual in 2002 up to 63 billion dollar in 2014.” These spending include clothing related to sport or teams, sports equipment and all other goods related or use in sports.
