Nuclear weapons are weapons used by the United States during World War 2. They are a destructive weapon that obtain its force from nuclear fission and nuclear fission reactions. The creation of nuclear weapons are a plague on society. These weapons have no positive effects or outcomes, yet many countries today still continue to create and use these weapons. There are two types of atomic bomb: “Little Boy” and “Fat Man”. “Little Boy” was the code name for the first atomic bomb the United States used against Hiroshima. “Fat Man” was the code name for the second atomic bomb the United States used against Nagasaki. In Kevins word, “From what researchers can tell, even people more than five hundred miles away from massive nuclear tests have encountered enough radiation (due to weather blowing it in their direction) to increase cancer rates and permanently harm babies in utero” (Loria, 2017). The chemicals used in nuclear weapons are usually radium or plutonium which is very deadly when inhaled. These chemical are spread everywhere when the bomb explodes. As mentioned by Tim, a reporter for Quartz Media, “Even those horrified by the bombing didn’t realize that the US would deploy similar weapons against its own people, accidentally, and on a comparable scale” (Fernholz, 2017). The United States had the idea that dropping atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki would put an end to the war. Their plan was a success because Japan soon surrendered. Nuclear weapons killing people is not okay in the first place. But, their main objective was to kill the people of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This weapon does no benefit the United States whatsoever because they are losing their own people as well so there was no point in using it in the first place.
