Personal Narrative: What I Learned While Playing Basketball

I first started playing basketball when i was in the 3rd grade I started out playing for the ymca just for fun. I played in the ymca for 2 years and thought i could play competitive. I started playing for hyland hills with my friend jeffrey and his dad was the coach. I ended up never getting the ball in the games so I said i'm done playing basketball and i'm gonna stick to playing football well after my 2013 football season we had won the championship and everyone had a week with the championship trophy and one of my football coaches was coaching a basketball team with my quarterback and my wide receiver on the team because they were his kids and also my friends. They came to my house to give me the trophy and my coach asked me if i was playing basketball this season and i said no and i told him what happened with my hyland hills team and he somehow convinced me into playing for a new section of the ymca it was called the ymca premier.…show more content…
Throughout that season I averaged around 15 points a game we made it to the playoffs and in the first playoff game I ended up scoring 18 points and in the 2nd playoff game I scored 24 and Keith van horn a former NBA player was watching my games because he made the ymca premier league so that he could scout people for premier basketball club. In the championship i scored 35 points and Keith also happened to be watching that game too and before that he talked to my parents on how I was a great player and that I was fast for my size. There was one thing that was most enjoyable about the last game when i scored 35 the crowed was going crazy and it felt amazing having everyone in the stands cheering for
