Personal Narrative: My Personal Values

At times we are all faced in situation where we can either look the other way or step in and do something about what is going on. Several years ago I was confronted in one of these “do something” moments. I had to make a decision to stand up to a bully picking on my sister, or to just act like it wasn’t happening and let the bully get what he wants. My personal values wouldn’t let me just look away which caused the story and lessons I learned that follows. Four years ago I was in 6th grade in the middle school. Like all 6th graders I felt special because I was in middle school, and I wasn’t a little elementary school nerd anymore. At the same time all the 7th and 8th graders felt that they were all that and a bag chips because they weren’t the youngest kids in the school. The swarm of all these different egos in the atmosphere led to confrontation that was usually harmless, but it could spiral out of control with the blink of an eye.…show more content…
Being myself I wasn’t going to be some nerd who sits in the front of the bus, so everyday I made sure to sit in the back of the bus with cool kids. One day I sat in seat that a 7th grader claimed to be his own. As soon as this 7th grader got on the bus he told me to get out of his seat and move up front. My parents always told me to stand up for myself and to not get pushed around, so I refused to move and eventually he sat down somewhere else. This is when his ego got hurt and he took it out on bullying me. For the next several weeks everyday he took sometime of jab at me for disrupting the bus seating area
