Old Navy Old Navy is a well-liked clothing and accessories brand which is a division of American multinational corporation Gap Inc. It has got its business in San Francisco and San Bruno, California. The largest of the Old Navy stores are its premium stores, based in New York City, the Mall of America, Seattle, Chicago and San Francisco. These premium stores also have "collection" business clothes for women, maternity and plus size sections. By the summer of 2007 however, plus-size clothing is only accessible online and has been taken out from all stores. Facts about Old Navy Old Navy was founded in the year 1994 as a sister concern of Gap. In the guidance of Millard Drexler, Gap decade, the company started other divisions like babyGap, Banana Republic, and GapKids. By the early 1990s, Target Corporation decided to start a fresh division, regarded as an affordable version of Gap; in 1993, Drexler responded by starting Gap Warehouse in present Gap outlets. The succeeding year, the Gap Warehouse division was branded as Old Navy to find a different image from its main company. The first Old Navy shops were introduced in the northern California towns of Colma, San Leandro and Pittsburg. The division developed rapidly; in 1997, it became the first retailer to get $1 billion in its first four years in business, and started 500 stores by 2000.
