Having good nutrition is essential for the body and all its systems to function at its highest for a lifetime. In William Golding’s novel, The Lord of the Flies, the boys get accustomed to irregular eating habits while being stranded on the island. Your body needs the energy we get from balanced nutrition to control the way our body grows and develops. When your body does not get the necessary nutrition it needs, it can eventually lead to malnutrition, high blood pressure, and impaired brain function. In Lord of the Flies, the boys do not have the proper nutrition to survive for the rest of their lives. As more days go on in the life of the boys, each one of them starts to show signs of poor concentration caused by a lack balanced nutrition.…show more content…
Not eating correctly can cause tooth decay, eating disorders, depression, and loss of muscle tissue. According to, someone’s diet without the supply of necessary nutrients can cause gum disease to progress faster and become more severe in those individuals. Eating disorders are complex conditions that come from a long-standing, behavioral, biological, and emotional factors. Some eating disorders may first appear to be mostly about food and weight, but those who are suffering often try to use food and the control of food to cope with feelings and emotions that may otherwise seem overwhelming. Unbalanced nutrition can lead to depression because of the loss of energy it causes. People with either low blood levels of the B-vitamin folic acid, or high blood levels of the amino acid homocysteine are most likely depressed from the lack of nutrition they have.When you don’t eat properly, your muscle tissue is at risk because eating less will not create the need to burn fat, instead it creates the need for the body to slow down. Your body does not hang on to the body fat, it rather burns the muscle tissue instead. Unbalanced nutrition can cause a lot of problems with your health, but there are a lot of good qualities that balanced nutrition can bring
