Have you ever met that special someone in high school and fell in love with that person? In Romeo and Juliet, when Romeo and Juliet meet, you can tell by Romeo’s interaction with Juliet that he really loves Juliet. When Romeo meets Juliet, he kisses her hand and tries to impress her. Romeo then decides to visit Juliet at her house while knowing that it might cost him his life should her parents discover him there. They even decide to get married in secret a few days after they met. This shows that it is possible for teenagers to be in love. In Act 2 Scene 2 Lines 2-25 and in Act 2 Scene 2 Lines 26-32, Romeo talks about how Juliet is the sun and how beautiful she is as well as how beautiful her voice is. In Act 2 Scene 2 Lines 62-65,and 70, Juliet keeps reminding Romeo about how dangerous it is for him to be here. However, in Act 2 Scene 2 Lines 66-69, 75-79, and 71-74, Romeo replies that the walls her family built cannot keep love out and, as a result, her family cannot stop him. Romeo also adds that there is more danger in Juliet’s eyes than 20 of her fellow Capulets’ swords. Romeo also mentions that night’s cloak hides himself from Juliet’s family, but if Juliet does not actually love him, he would rather be killed by her relatives in their hate than have death come at a later time and want Juliet’s love for the rest of his life. If Romeo did not love Juliet, then there would have been no reason for him talking about how beautiful she is. There also would have been no reason for risking his life if he did not love Juliet, which would make sense as to why he would rather die from her family’s hatred than live while wanting Juliet’s love for the rest of his life.
