Jimmy Carter started as a well respected political man which gradually decreased as his time in office went on. Jimmy Carter, a former governor of Georgia won presidency in the election of 1976. His famous slogan that helped him win was “For America’s third century, why not her best?” Many people liked his ideas of making this the best century yet and he was elected into office by a landslide. As president, he promised to free the United States from burdens of imperialist wars and break away from the South’s racist past. As a way of achieving the highest possible national satisfactory, he used the ideas of simplicity and opened. Much like Ford, Carter was a victim of domestic economy and couldn't handle it.
