The film “JAWS” is a horror/suspense thriller directed by Steven Spielberg. The film “JAWS” is about an oversized Great White shark that could be based on the Megalodon shark, (a prehistoric shark that was measured as a minimum size of 14 metres, which is around double the size as the shark in Jaws.) this shark swims near the beaches of the small island of Amity, and feeds on swimmers that go out into sea. The film “JAWS” is set on the island and seaside of the island Amity, and it is set on the 4th of July, a reason why the director decided to set the film on this date, is because it is the biggest and most important American holiday, (After the worldwide holiday, Christmas) the American Independence day, a day that celebrates the freedom of America, and is a day that schools are closed, people don’t have to go to work, etc. This means that many people would go to beaches and seaside…show more content…
As the girl starts swimming, there is no music, building tension as the audience of the film scream at the girl to turn around, nevertheless the girl keeps on swimming, then the camera goes under and we can see through the shark’s point of view as the music starts, then when the camera comes back up, the girl is grabbed from underneath, but we still can’t see the shark, and as the girl is screaming the camera moves to the boy, passed out on the beach and the music pauses, showing a kind of “They can never hear you scream.” Then the camera moves back to the attack, the music continues, and she grabs a buoy, another pause, then the shark grabs her and drags her under the water, the music stops, symbolising her death and peace. During the attack, dramatic music is played, going with the action on the screen, but after the attack, when we see the float ripped up on the beach, the music stops and the silence starts, and again symbolising peace and
