Genocide involved the massive killings of a certain race or nation. Genocide is one of the worst of the worst crimes anybody can ever commit. The word Genocide was created by Raphael Lemkin, a polish lawyer who fled the country before the horrific event took place in 1941. He came up with the term “genocide” by combining the Greek word for race or tribe genos, with the Latin suffix cide (”to kill”). This crime was horrific and against human nature. Even though Genocides by Hitler and Stalin was what they believed the only solution to their problems and also a gateway to power, genocide destroyed and killed millions of people because Joseph Stalin causing a famine in the Ukraine to destroy people who went against his rule killed over 7,000,000,…show more content…
Joseph Stalin was the dictator of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) from 1929 to 1953. Stalin’s plan was to transform the Soviet Union from a peasant society to an industrial and military superpower (http://www.history.com/topics/pol-pot). He did not want society to prosper from their own individual farms. He wanted government control over the Economy and Soviet agriculture which led to famine across the Soviet Union killing millions. He confiscated everything from the people including their homes, food, and valuable possessions. People also resorted to cannibalism which was illegal and anyone caught doing this act would be punished. He also killed anyone who opposed and created the secret police who spied on other citizens and had millions killed or sent to the Gulag system of forced labor camps. “Death is the solution to all problems. No man- no problems”. He prosecuted a number of terror, purges, executions, labor camps, and persecution. He wiped out anything that went against his rule. Adolph Hitler was a German politician and leader of the Nazi party from 1933 to 1945. He viewed the “Aryan” Pure German race as the highest form of humanity while Jews were the lowest and infected the world and under minded the German racial purity. Even though Jews only took up 1%of the German population during the 1930s Hitler believed they controlled everything and were the causes of Germany’s corrupt economy and all sicknesses and diseases. Jews were either sent to concentration camps or death camps. All their values were taken from them including gold teeth with were extracted from them while they were alive. They were led to gas chambers and killed with poison gas, sent to Crematorium where they were burned dead or alive, or shot right on the spot. Jews lived in constant fear and did what they could to stay alive. If they were healthy enough they were sent to the concentration camps to do hard forced labor. Nazi doctors conducted horrific medical experiments on living prisoners. Women were used as sex slaves. Germans were subjected to kill all Jews no matter what age or gender. “I do not see why man should not be just as cruel as nature”. Hitler not only killed Jews but Polish, gypsies and the mentally
