GINGIVAL HYPERPLASIA
SUMMARY : Gingival enlargement is diverse group of chaos. The situation manifests itself by progressive enlargements of gingival tissue. This gingival enlargement is maily caused by an increase in the sub mucosal connective tissue element. This type of enlargement is a proliferative fibrous lesion. This proliferative lesion causes esthetics and functional problems. The condition is atypical and inherited. The condition mostly involves keratinized gingiva .The nature of condition is slowly progressive, not hemorrhagic. The involvement is fibrous in nature. The pain lasted for about half an hour. This pain subsided in a month and the gingival swelling has gradually increased in severity to the present size. The discomfort and pain aggravates during mastication. Gingival bleeding is associated with mastication and cleaning the teeth which is present since a month. The patient has not taken any medications for the same complaint.The patient is hypertensive since 6 yrs and is on medications since 6 yrs on Tab. Samlokind OD (Amlodipine 2.5 mg & Atenolol 50 mg) .The patient uses toothpowder and finger once a day to clean the teeth since childhood. She has the adverse habit of use of mishri (burnt tobacco form) 3-4 times a day since 9-10 years. Right & left submandibular lymph nodes are enlarged, palpable, soft & non-tender.
