Ford Road Elementary School's healthy culture includes shared values, common beliefs, written and unwritten rules and behavior expectations of all stakeholders. Within the school community, all stakeholders utilize school's social norms and create opportunities for everyone to be successful. A healthy school culture creates an environment in which the school community, at all levels, is actively engaged, feels empowered to effect positive change, enjoys congenial relationships and is supported and mentored for success. Faculty and staff members also participate in pre-school professional development days designed to provide collaborative opportunities for teachers and staff. Both of these events involve sessions focused on building school-wide relationships, team building, and improving overall morale amongst faculty and staff. Teachers, school administrators, and district personnel are involved in the delivery of culture building activities and setting academic priorities and goals during these sessions. These professional learning opportunities include grade-level, content specific, and school team building activities, goal setting, and collaboration that are focused on school and district priorities.
