The identification method I thought is the most fallible is the police lineup. For years we hear story after story of misidentification of suspects and those wrongly convicted of crimes who are consequently exonerated do to DNA testing. According to Lyman (2011), “Eyewitness misidentification is the single greatness cause of wrongful convictions, playing a role in more than 75% of convictions overturned through DNA testing. For more than 30 years, research has proven the unreliability of eyewitness testimony” (p. 127). There are two different line-up procedures done today.
