Essay On Interaction Of Earth

781 Words4 Pages
The earth is a dynamic planet. It is made up of four spheres, atmosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere and lithosphere. Together they make up all the components of our planet both living and non-living. These interactions drive the earth’s processes. Material on earth either gets recycled or reforms by the interaction processes of the spheres. In this assignment I am going to describe how the earth’s spheres interact with each other and give examples of these interactions. Landslides According to the Geoscience Australia, "a landslide is the movement of rock, debris or earth down a slope. They result from the failure of the materials which make up the hill slope and are driven by the force of gravity. Landslides are known also as landslips, slumps or slope failure." One of the main forces behind the movement of earth down a slope is the incapability of being able to deal with the amount of rainfall which is occurring on the side of a mountain. In this example, I am going to explain how different sphere work with each other to leave a long lasting interaction on the environment. http://www.ga.gov.au/scientific-topics/hazards/landslide/basics/what In the town of La Conchita, California on the 10th of January, 2005, there was a major landslide which killed ten people. When a volcano erupts, it pushes molten rock up through the earth’s surface and changes the surface which it has been in contact with; this is it affecting the geosphere. This eruption causes the release of gases and particular matter high out of the volcano into the atmosphere. The release of the particular matter into the atmosphere, forces water to condense around the particular matter. Therefore, is affecting the hydrosphere. The eruption also sends hot lava down the slopes of the volcano. The lava can then disrupt the biosphere by destroying settlements, livestock, forests or anything which lays in its
