Have you ever read any series of Diary of a Wimpy Kid? Do you know who is Jeff Kinney? Do you know in what kind of genre is the book written? In this essay we will discuss the book called Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and who wrote it. Also, the book and its series will be discussed. The genre of this book is comedy. Basically, The series that will be focused on will be The Last Straw. as this book states on the cover " The # 1 New York Times Bestseller." Which means that the series of this book as gone a long way to become the 1# New York Times Bestseller. As you might already infer the author built the whole series upon the idea of the life of a teenage boy named Gregory (Greg) Hefley. In the book the main character is Greg is living an ordinary life of a teenage boy with big dreams and let downs. Other characters like his mom, dad, Manny (his baby brother), Rodrick ( his older brother), and Rowley are characters that are mentioned in every series, and they impact Greg's life. In this series Greg is trying to help others improve, while he is being proud of himself. On the other hand, his dad doesn’t think that Greg is doing the right thing and he wants him change his wimpy ways.…show more content…
Then according to my research he started running a comic strip called Igdoof in the campus newspaper. At that time, he knew he wanted to be a cartoonist. Unfortunately, he did not succeed in getting his comic strip syndicated except after college. Next, in the year 1998 he began writing ideas about Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Which he was hoping to turn into a book and that is how he began writing or how he was motivated by writing the series of Diary of a Wimpy
