Delta flight 1525 had been delayed three hours due to an escaped Baboon tarantula on Wednesday, September 23. The flight was scheduled to depart to Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport at 7 p.m. However, before passengers boarded, an employee saw a tarantula in the cargo hold. The Baboon tarantula has very strong venom. A bite from a King baboon spider is not deadly or dangerous to humans however, it can cause severe allergic reactions.
