I chose We French Workers Warn you…Defeat Means Slavery, Starvation, Death by Ben Shahn. It was printed in 1942 on lithograph and ranges from 28 ½ x 39 7/8. This is stylized art with a little representational feeling. This is because the workers is looks natural, but at the same time, it doesn’t. The entire French staff looks realistic because of the way their arms are extended but it’s mainly flat. This is basically a political theme, because what this piece is about is that French workers protesting for the States during the WWII era. They were sending a warning to Americans about the consequences of defeat. Their message was to motivate America’s fight against government tyranny.
